The SA were the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi party, and at the time were known as the "Brownshirts".  The Franken Group based in Nuremberg, were a key part of the group at the time with a Sturmführer (storm leader or assault leader) being an official rank.

The Austrian produced Puch 800 built by Steyr Daimler Puch was available until 1938, when competition from BMW and Zündapp became too strong.
