The Black Brigade, named because of their distinctive black leather jackets, were the motorcycle troops of the 10th Motorised Division of the Polish Army, who fought with much bravery and ferocity during the doomed defence of Poland in 1939. Many of these skilled soldiers escaped into Hungary once Poland was lost and then continued the fight in France and beyond.
The Sokół 1000 produced from 1933, and even though mass-produced, had a high quality checking regime, with proved invaluable when used in combat.
